Dragan Hamovic (Kraljevo, 1970) graduated in 1995 from the Belgrade University, Faculty of Philology, Department of Serbian Literature and Language, where he also achieved his MA (“The Poetry and Poetics of Jovan Hristic”, 2008) and PhD (“The Poetry of Stevan Raickovic and the Poetical Surroundings of the Second Half of the 20th Century”, 2010). Since 2005 a member of scientific conferences organized by the Institute for Literature and Art, at the project Change of poetic paradigms in Serbian literature of the twentieth century: a national and European context. He was employed at the National Library in Kraljevo (1997–2002) as the editor-in-chief of the journal Povelja and the library’s publishing section, and since 2001 as the library manager. He organized several scientific conferences and edited a series of collections of papers, on poets laureates of the Žicka hrisovulja award.
From 2003 to 2011, editor in the publishing house Zavod za udžbenike, Belgrade. Started several literature imprints, revived and edited the journal Savremeni udžbenik (2005–2009).
He was member of the Serbian Writer’s Association (1994–2001) and the Serbian Literary Association (2001–2009). He received the Milan Bogdanovic Award for literary criticism (2006), and for his poetry collection, Maticna knjiga (Registry Book), the Award of SANU from the fund of Branko Copic’s Legacy (2008).
