Principal Research Fellow
Born in Kraljevo on 3rd October 1974, where she attended grammar school, the natural science course of studies. Until 1997, she played volleyball professionally.
She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad in 2002 (the Department of Serbian Literature and Language) with an average mark of 9.95.
She completed her postgraduate studies at the above faculty with an average mark of 10.00, obtaining her Master’s Degree in 2005, having defended an MA thesis entitled “The Life of an Epic Poem: The Wedding of King Vukašin in a Circle of Variants”.
She obtained her PhD Degree at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade in 2009, having defended a doctoral dissertation entitled “Vuk’s Collections of Epic Poems in the Context of Earlier Records (Themes, Heroes and Sujet Models)”.
She has been employed at the Institute for Literature and Art since 1st April 2007. She first worked on the project “Comparative Studies of Serbian Literature (in a European Context)”, and since 2010 she has been engaged on the project “Serbian Oral Creations in an Intercultural Code”.
She studies Serbian and South Slavic oral creations, and from a specific analytical position (which involves searching for mythical layers and traditional images, patterns and models) – with works belonging to the realm of written culture.
