Biography

Danijela (Kolundžic) Petkovic was born in 1975 in Despotovac, where she attended primary school. Having attended grammar school in Paracin, she studied at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, the Department of Serbian Literature and Language, from which she graduated in 2000. She obtained her Master’s Degree in 2007, having defended a thesis entitled “The Typology of Epic Poems about a Hero’s Wedding”. She published a book of the same title in 2008. Since 2001, she has worked as a language editor/proofreader for the “Politika” daily paper, she has taught at a number of Belgrade primary schools, and until 2009 she worked at the “Dr. Archibald Reiss” primary school as a Serbian Language and Literature teacher. Since March 2009, she has been employed at the Institute for Literature and Art in Belgrade, where she is engaged on the project “Serbian Oral Creations“. She obtained her PhD Degree in 2013, having defended a doctoral thesis entitled “The Hero end the Syuzhet in the Process of Epic Modelation”.
