Graduated and obtained her MA degree from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philology, Department of Spanish Literature and Language. In her MA thesis, as well as her PhD thesis at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Una aproximación traductológica al problema de la cultura del extranjero (2003), she develops the research in the field of Translation Studies.
She worked as a Lecturer at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philology, Department of Spanish Literature and Language (1988-1998) and as a Visiting Lecturer at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1989-1991). In Alternative Academic Educational Network (AAEN), she was Lecturer in Translation Studies. She coordinated postgraduate courses “Translation and Manipulation: Relations of Domination between Cultures”, and “Translation as an Intercultural Signifying Process” (1999-2000). She edited the series of books dedicated to theoretical problems of translation entitled Translation and Thought, published by ААEN (2003-2005).
Employed at the Institute for Literature and Art since November 2008, engaged on the project “Contemporary Literary Theories and Their Application: New Discursive Practices of Literary Theory Studies” (2008-2010), and “Culturological Theories of Literature and Serbian Literary Criticism” (2011- ).
Head of the Project “Culturological Theories of Literature and Serbian Literary Criticism” since September 2015.
In the field of Translation Studies, her interests span from the theory of literary translation to the complex interconnections between poetics, politics, metaphysics, and history; problems of intercultural communication, ethics and poetics of translation; history of translation in serbian culture; translation and cultural exchange between Serbian culture and Mediterranean cultures (Spanish, French, Italian) in early modern period.
Author of seven books on the topics of Transcultural and Translation Studies, and numerous translations from Spanish, French, Italian and English.
Member of Association of Literary Translators of Serbia since 1994.
